🚀 Bihar's Tech Milestone! 🚀
Today's big update: Bihar has received its very first state-of-the-art supercomputer! It has been officially installed at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna.
Name: Param Rudra
Speed: 838 Teraflops
Developer: C-DAC
Mission: NSM (National Supercomputing Mission)
This machine is a beast! While normal PCs work in Gigahertz, this one works in "Flops". Just 1 Flop equals solving 1015 data points per second! Calculations that take a regular computer 10 to 1,000 years can be done here in minutes.
The software is 100% indigenous (made by Indians), and most hardware components like the HPC processors and cooling systems were built right here in India.

- Space Exploration 🚀
Currently, India has 37 supercomputers installed nationwide with a capacity of 39 Petaflops. The long-term goal is to reach 100 Petaflops!
Did you know? India's first supercomputer was the Param 8000, created in 1991 by Vijay Pandurang Bhatkar, known as the father of Indian supercomputing. Meanwhile, the fastest in the world right now is El Capitan in the USA.
This is a massive boost for researchers and students in Bihar. It helps reduce our technical dependence on other countries and promotes Atmanirbhar Bharat!
